Kostanay Region is located in the north of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Its administrative center is the city of Kostanay. The region borders five other regions of Kazakhstan: Aktobe, Ulytau, Karaganda, Akmola, and North Kazakhstan. In addition, it shares borders with three constituent entities of the Russian Federation: Orenburg, Chelyabinsk, and Kurgan regions.
